Why We Offer A Trial For New Members
Every CrossFit gym is unique, so each gym you visit will give you a different vibe. Signing up for a 2-week trial and coming in as often as you can during the trial is the best way to see if CrossFit Factorial is a good fit for you.
The things you’ll want to pay attention to when you are considering a CrossFit gym are the coaching, the community, the workouts, and the facility. Within each of those categories, here are a few things you might consider:
Coaching—coaching experience and style. Do coaches take the time to demonstrate and explain movements? Are they correcting movement faults in class? How do they handle making modifications to movements for their athletes?
Community—are the other people in your class welcoming and friendly? Do you notice a broad range of experience among the members? Does it seem like the community is very young, or more mixed with several people in their forties and fifties?
Workouts—CrossFit is all about full-body movements done in a variety of different ways. Our hope is that you will attend a LOT of classes during your 2-week trial period to really get some exposure to that variety. Workouts should generally be comprised of one or more of these three categories: weightlifting, bodyweight training, and cardio training.
Facility—does the gym have well maintained equipment? Are the barbells, weights, and cardio equipment rusty and dirty? Does the gym have enough equipment for each person in class? Is the gym layout and space adequate for class size, or are people lifting dangerously close to one another?
What To Expect During Your 2-week Trial With Us
The Schedule—You will have access to all CrossFit classes on our schedule except for the 4:30pm and 5:45pm classes during the week. All of the classes available to you are beginner-friendly, but the best times to attend if you are a total beginner are the 6:45am, 9:15am, 12:00pm, and 7:00pm classes. During our weekend classes, the 9:15am and 10:30am classes are the most beginner friendly because they aren’t as busy as the 8am class, but you are more than welcome to attend any of the scheduled classes on the weekend.
The Workouts—Many people feel intimated when they try CrossFit, but please remember our coaches will take care of you. We use a graduated approach while warming up workout movements, which helps you not only learn the movements in a step-by-step fashion, but also readily identify ways to scale the movement to your ability level. You will have all workout and lesson plan information available to you ahead of time, so if you’d like to look ahead, it’s possible to do that.
